This 1960s bungalow was typified by dark narrow corridors and isolated rooms. The renovation opened up and inter-connected the interior spaces creating a flowing modern plan that brings light into the centre of the house. An original breakfast room and kitchen, both rather small, have been combined to create a new entry area and an enlarged kitchen which opens up to the adjacent family and dining rooms. The re-arrangement of the exterior windows to suit the new plan was assisted by the insertion of new fibre cement panels in a deep red finish. This strategy permitted the existing brickwork work to remain without being re-worked while livening up the exterior composition. The same deep red finish flows to the interior and highlights the fireplace area and the hallway. A new porch creates a generous welcoming gesture to the front entrance while being a great place to sit and view the garden.
"Our home can now easily accommodate parties for 60 people. We are getting lots of compliments on the renovations. Many thanks to Chris and his team."
