Ottawa, Ontario
This house was designed for a couple who enjoys informal entertaining in all seasons. The long gently sloping site abuts the Rideau River to the north. The house was designed and situated to take advantage of the landscape and the presence of mature trees. A gazebo creates a welcoming gesture and is a focal point for an interesting landscaped path winding through a Japanese stylized garden leading to the front entry porch. The result is a house that looks as if it has been there as long as the trees.
